Mari Olsson

Personal Trainer

As a former elite athlete for the past 15yrs ( 20km race walker) I have developed the right
mindset to accept obstacles as opportunities to grow. Impossible equals challenges. My goal
is to transfer this mindset to my clients. I want them to realise the importance of having a
vision and a “why” and then setting goals towards that vision. This is not just for them to
achieve their physical goals, but also master their minds to be able to transfer the challenges
they overcome in the gym ( small and big wins) to their everyday challenges outside the gym
for a greater feeling of optimal living!
I’m from Sweden and I have competed in several sports like cross country skiing,
snowboarding, basketball and running to mention a few. As a racewalker I’ve been traveling
to Australia to train with the Aus team at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra since
2009 and also since travelled the world as an elite competitor.
Unfortunately the road has been really bumpy and after a few bad injuries and surgeries I
missed out on my highest goal -the Olympics in Rio 2016. It has been really tough times but
this whole journey has taught me a lot of great things about life. Experiences, challenges and
mindsets I can now transfer to my clients to help them overcome obstacles and reach goals.
I met my husband Brett ( known as “Robbo” and is also one of the trainers at Elevation ) in
2012. In April this year we had our firstborn son Oliver. Except for a lot of extra love in life,
parenthood has definitely added life challenges and more experiences to the “CV”, as a
human and as a coach.
Brett and I also run the company ‘LIFE’ – @lifeforxlns, and I created a branch of the business
called "LIFE training". This gives me the opportunity to be coaching both boot camp style
classes and also courses in "Mental strength training" when I’m back in Sweden.
At Elevation Fitness, I take the “Elevate” group fitness classes and I am also a Personal
Trainer. When I am not coaching or training, I am spending quality time with my family,
discovering new places, great food, quality coffee and potentially a glass of red 😉 ..and any
chance I get to travel the world, I’m in!
