Dan Carruthers

Growing up on the Gold Coast was the perfect environment to instill focus and dedication to my passion for sport. I have been competing in sport since I was 9 and was state champion across 7 different sports. I love surf-lifesaving and after winning a life goal of a world title in 2008 in the Board Paddle event and with my extensive knowledge of health, fitness and training, I decided to pursue a career in coaching and personal training.

I was owner/director/head trainer of my own gym for 5 years in Burleigh Heads with over 60 staff, and trained 1000’s of clients of all ages and fitness levels. My expertise is in fat loss, strength and conditioning and sports specific training. I have provided strength and conditioning programs for world champion boxer Corey McConnell, Olympian Lyndsey Fogarty, Australia and World Champion Iron woman Harriet Brown and World Champion athlete and endurance king Caine Eckstein.

In terms of surf lifesaving, I have coached many World and Australian champion athletes including Ky Hurst, Liz Pluimers, Brodie Moir, Luke Cuff, and Hayley Bateup. I was head coach at Kurrawa Surf Club for 2 years and Head Coach at North Burleigh Surf Club for 3 years. This experience has given me the skills and knowledge of sport, health and fitness that can be tailored to meet the goals of any demographic.

At Elevation Fitness, I take kids classes for primary and high school ages, and run “Shred”, “Elevate” and “Func Hiit” adult group fitness classes. I am a Certificate 4 qualified Personal Trainer with a current First Aid Certificate.
